A New Head Of Windows Surfaces At Microsoft; Panos Panay

Moving The Hardware To Software
If have some favourites at Microsoft to curse at, you might want to update your list to match the news out of The Register who have tallied up the extensive changes which just happened in Redmond. Joe Belfiore used to run the Windows Experience team but has now grabbed some ribbons and joined Ales Holecek at the Office Experience group. Microsoft took this opportunity to merge the Windows and Surface teams together under Panos Panay, who has managed to turn the Surface into a rather successful product line after a rough start.
It will be interesting to see what effect this Apple-ish move has on Microsoft over the next few years.
An organisational reshuffle at Microsoft is to create a new Windows and Devices team under Panos Panay, currently chief product officer in charge of hardware including the Surface range.
