All the VRs Love Alyx!

A Half-Life Protagonist With A Voice
The fact your character talks is almost as mind blowing as Half-Life moving into VR, but from the reviews you can spot the VR really is what makes this game something else. It takes place while Gordon is chilling in the dark between Half-Life 1 and 2, fleshing out Alyx, the Combine and the world in general as opposed to just being something you have seen before moved into VR. Instead there is a lot to learn and enjoy while you are picking off head crabs.
Check out the gravity gloves and other interesting features of the game, not to mention how you use them to interface with the game along with plenty of spoiler free screen grabs if you like. You can also get an idea why people are spending more time interacting with random objects in the game than working towards completing it.
And yet: Half-Life: Alyx is a must-play video game for anyone in a position to do so. If you already have access to the required technology—a full VR headset system, a robust computer, and a reasonable amount of space to move your arms while otherwise blind to the real world—you are in for a video game that pushes the notion of "full-length VR adventure" to its limits.

2 hours in and I’m enjoying Alyx immensely. Whilst it is incredibly slick and polished, I don’t think its the killer app VR so desperately needs.
