A new set of graphics drivers (GeForce 445.75 WHQL) have been released by NVIDIA. These ones are “Game Ready” for Half-Life: Alyx, Resident Evil 3, and Ghost Recon Breakpoint. They also roll in support for DLSS 2.0 for Deliver Us The Moon, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, MechWarrior 5: Merceneries, and (when the game gets patched on Thursday) Control.
You can read Sebastian’s story to learn more about DLSS 2.0.
The actual drivers do not have any listed improvements or bug-fixes. That said, we are finally off the Release 440 branch and now on Release 445. You can expect mostly bug-fixes and performance improvements within a single branch, and large new features across branches. In this case, it looks like DLSS 2.0 was the only new addition. In terms of APIs, these drivers have not included the additions for Vulkan 1.2 or Vulkan Ray Tracing – those are still on the Vulkan Beta developer pre-releases.
Note: NVIDIA structures their drivers in major branches (ABC) and minor release numbers (XY) to format their version numbers as ABC.XY. Sometimes they run out of minor numbers and need to increment the major version, but the actual major branch number is listed in the title of the release notes. For example, last week’s Doom Eternal drivers were Release 440 Driver for Windows, Version 442.74.
The new drivers, 445.75, are available on their website and GeForce Experience.
