Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Lands On Foreign Shores Towards The End Of The Year

Dual Wielding Viking Assassins?

The newest Assassin’s Creed sees you travelling back to one of the first attempts of vikings to make a settlement on England’s shores, much to the displeasure of the Saxon’s king, King Aelfred of Wessex.  As you might guess from that, base building has found it’s way into the Assassin’s Creed series.  In order to fund the development of the settlement you need money, and in true viking tradition your income comes from raiding other settlements and there is a new game mechanic focused on just that.

The combat system has been revamped to allow you to wield an axe in each hand or to make use of a shield if you prefer.  You can take a look at the trailer over at Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN; it is rather pretty albeit rather cinematic.   You should keep your eyes peeled for more updates as the game isn’t scheduled for launch until close to the end of the year.

Assassin’s Creed’s come a long way from skulking around in white hoodies via the beige-tinted personality of human spreadsheet Desmond Miles, I’ll tell you that. I’ve never seen a hidden blade look less subtle.

Also probably worth noting that Ubi has announced has converted it’s E3 keynote into a digital event. Now that AC is outa the bad I wonder what else they will be shilling? I mean ofocuce Far Cry 6 and/or 5.5 will be atleast teased, but what else?

See, I’m wondering where UBI will go with exactly that. Back with FC5 they had one of the best valued season pass in decades, possibly ever. 3 full 5-12 hour games with full stories and awesome voice acting ect, for 40$ and all ingame purchases were primarilarly cosmetic AND easily grindable. At the time I was hopeful that it would become a trend, atleast within UBI it self, but as of now, that 100% has not happened. Wondering what will happen next. (I got nothing else to do anyways)
