You Know MSI’s MEG, Now Meet The MSI MPG Family
The new line up from MSI includes the MPG B550 GAMING CARBON WIFI, MPG B550 GAMING EDGE WIFI, MPG B550I GAMING EDGE WIFI and MPG B550 GAMING PLUS. Of them all only the MPG B550I GAMING EDGE WIFI is Mini-ITX, the rest are ATX for those that want a full sized experience, not to mention the inclusion of Mystic Light RGB LED effects with 16.8 million colors and 29 different effects.
The MPG B550 GAMING CARBON WIFI has a a larger aluminium cover than previous CARBON models, and a 7W/mK level thermal & choke pad to ensure the best heat transfer and lower temperatures. The board is built with 12 + 2 +1 Digital Power with a doubler and the motherboard has 8+4 pin power connectors and to provide more stability to high end Ryzens. You will also benefit from Lightning Gen 4, PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots with M.2 Shield Frozr, 2.5G LAN and Wi-Fi 6 among a large variety of other features.
The MPG B550I GAMING EDGE WIFI power system is 8+2+1 direct power phases with Dr.MOS 60A, and while it might be small in stature it is built tough with an eight layer PCB with 2oz of thickened copper. The cooling of the board is similar to the larger model with an Extended Heatsink Design that provides 7W/mK thermals and an additional choke pad with a MOSFET base plate as well.
The HDMI 2.1 port can handle up to 4096×2160@60Hz so if you chose the right Ryzen processor you can enjoy UHD video without needing a discrete GPU.
