Crucial Launches New X6 Portable SSD

Micron’s Crucial brand might be better known for memory than storage, but the company offers a number of internal SSD options. Today’s announcement is actually an external solution, as the new Crucial X6 portable SSD is a USB-C device.
“The Crucial X6 delivers impressive performance in a size comparable to most wireless earbud cases and weighs less than a set of keys. It is available in capacities up to 2TB to provide flexible storage solutions based on user needs, without the security risks that come with cloud storage. With read speeds up to 540MB/s, this tiny drive performs 3.8 times faster than most portable hard drives. The Crucial X6 is durable too; it is drop-proof up to 6.5 feet and resistant to shock, vibration and extreme temperatures.”
The X6 is quite small even for an external SSD, with listed dimensions of 11 x 69 x 64 mm (LxWxH). As mentioned in the quote above, the X6 portable SSD will be available in capacities of up to 2TB, and the product targets mainstream performance with reads of up 540 MB/s. Expected street prices are $154.95 for the 1TB version, and $284.95 for the 2TB version.
Thanks Sebastian the pricing on these seems reasonable.
