Assuming That The eBay Seller Still Has Some

It would be a bit of a gamble to grab a Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G from an overseas reseller but it is also the only way to get your hands on one short of buying a full system which is build around one.  It seems a few people managed to get their hands on a certain number of this Renoir chip and are selling them via eBay and similar markets and The Guru of 3D managed to get their hands on one.

It is a 65W 6-core multi-threaded APU with a base 3.6GHz clock that can boost up to 4.4GHz with an integrated GPU that has 8 CUs running at 1.9GHz, which makes it the fastest iGPU in this family of AMD processors.  This is born out by the TimeSpy GPU result of 1443, which surpasses any other APU that Guru of 3D has in their stables.

The CPU performance is broken down by memory speeds, they tested with two different types of memory at frequencies ranging from DDR4-3200 to DDR4-4533 which had a large effect on memory bandwidth but not so much on performance.   Generally the CPU performs a hair better than a Ryzen 5 3600, but take a look for yourself in the full review.

There is a new hybrid processor in town, meet the AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G. The uniqueness of this event is that the processor series announced and released a few weeks ago should not have got into the retail. However, thanks to East Asia, these processors got onto the retail and e-tail markets and can very simply be ordered and purchased.

I was confused as the reviewer kept switching between the two, but kept the thread count consistent at 16 … have to take their word since we don’t have one to verify and it was grabbed off eBay or similar.

I should remember to pop back and see if they’ve edited it.
