No C-Beams Glittering Here

If you are (im)patiently awaiting the arrival of your Ryzen 3 chip, or just have it sitting on your wish list, you may well also be looking for some new DDR4 to go with it.  GeIL would like you to consider their line of Orion DDR4 specifically designed to work with AMD processors and is available in frequencies ranging from 2666MHz, 3000MHz, 3200MHz, 3600MHz, to 4000MHz.  The specific kit being reviewed at Modders Inc is the 16GB DDR4-3200 with timings of 16-18-18-36.

The testbed used is comprised of a AMD Ryzen 9 3900x on a ASRock B550 Extreme 4 and they test it against G.SKILL’s Flare X of the same frequency.  Performance was as expected but that wasn’t why it got the Must Have Award.  The simplicity of setting the frequency in the UEFI is where this kit really shined, it is truly just plug and play.  The other nice thing is the price, currently running just under $60.

The Orion memory kit is the newest memory modules launched by GeIL. GEIL created the Orion kit aimed at content creators and gamers. The Orion kits are available in capacities of up to 64 GB and memory speeds topping out at 4000 MHz. GEIL manufactures two main categories of the Orion line. The Orion and the Orion AMD Edition.
