Seasonic SYNCRO Q704 And Connect Chassis; A Powerful Combo

A Case, A PSU And Connect Power Distribution

A fair while ago Seasonic launched the Connect, a different way of providing power to your computer.  It was paired with a specially designed PSU with only one power connector, which linked the PSU to the Connect which is where all of your peripheral power connectors would be attached.   The design of the Connect lets you install it behind the back panel, to mak cable management much easier than it is when you are connecting directly from the PSU.   To make things even easier, they have bundled the PSU and Connect with a Syncro Q704 chassis, which happens to have the perfect spot for the Connect to hide.

The Seasonic Syncro Q704 case is a mid-tower measuring 537 (D) x 234 (W) x 493 mm (H) (21.0×9.2×19.4″) which can hold up to an E-ATX motherboard that can hold up to seven 120/140mm fans plus and additional 120mm on the bottom if you so desire.  It can handle up to a 185 mm CPU heatsink and a GPU of up to 345 mm (13.6″) in length.  The front panel sports the usual suspects and a USB C connector as well, while the tempered glass side gives you a nice view of your components.

The Connect acts as both your power distribution hub, but also as your RGB controller as well has handling the seven PWM fans.  It looks a bit different from the original stand alone version as it is specific to this case and hopefully has better availability than the original one.  The Seasonic Connect PSU offers 650W of power and sports a 80 PLUS Gold rating.

TechPowerUp built a system around this handy combo pack, finding it well built and effectively executed.  The drawback is the price of $310 for the package; which is essentially the same price as picking up each of these components separately.  As well they encountered troubles with the pre-installed rear fan, as it’s cord was simply not long enough to reach the Connect without adding in an extension.

If you are interested in the idea of a hybrid power and fan controller then you should take a peek at this unique set of components from Seasonic.

Seasonic has been pretty bold by offering their Seasonic Connect 750W PSU with its unique distribution system in the recent past. With the Q7 series case, they go a step further and offer a case that allows for the seamless integration of their Seasonic Connect, all while focusing on quality at the same time.
