It seems like it has been a while since we saw a new Sapphire Toxic GPU, their lineup of watercooled and factory overclocked graphics cards which sometimes sported significantly higher frequencies than the competition.  Well, today you can peek at Kitguru’s review of the new SAPPHIRE Toxic RX 6900 XT.  They do call it a Limited Edition, though to be perfectly frank, what big Navi GPU isn’t at this point?

The card pushes the 2250MHz Boost clock up to 2365MHz with the Performance BIOS enabled and an impressive 2660MHz with the Toxic Boost turned on, which also increases the memory to 16.8Gbps and bumps the power consumption up to 300W.   In games, the average boost in performance compared to a base model 6900 XT is around 11% at 4K, but only by 8% on average.  That performance bump is enough to make the Toxic RX 6900 XT at least as powerful as the RTX 3090 … apart from ray tracing.

Manual overclocking was of limited use, Kitguru maximixed the power slide to +15% which let them raise the core to 2700MHz, as well as another 20MHz to the memory.  The performance boost was barely noticeable, which does indicate that Sapphire has managed to release the card with the highest frequencies this silicon can handle.  Drop by for a closer look.

It’s been some years since we last looked at a graphics card from Sapphire’s Toxic brand, but that changes today. Toxic is back, and it’s back with a bang, as we review the RX 6900 XT Toxic Limited Edition, featuring a 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler. Sapphire claims this is the fastest RX 6900 XT on the market, with a rated boost clock of 2660MHz when using the card’s ‘Toxic Boost’ mode.

With the general scarcity of high-end GPUs in mind, is offering a limited edition RX 6900 XT in these times like limited squared?
