AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO Processors Coming To DIY Market
Back in July the news about AMD’s Threadripper PRO lineup was accompanied by the rather important detail that you couldn’t actually buy one separately, and Lenovo was the initial partner offering systems equipped with these high-powered workstation CPUs. Well, that has changed, as retail availability is upon us.
Behold: a Newegg screenshot.
As you can see from the above image, Newegg’s pricing (presumably MSRP) for these chips will set you back $5489.99 for the 64-core 3995WX, $2749.99 for the 32-core 3975WX, and $1149.99 for the 16-core 3955WX.
You will need a compatible motherboard, naturally, and these WRX80 boards are expected from the likes of ASUS, Gigabyte, and Supermicro – with more likely to come. In the meantime, you can read more about AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors here.
