The New be quiet! Dark Power 12 Series Of PSUs

Feel The Power Of  The Dark Side

The new Dark Power 12 series continues the be quiet! tradition of previous models, using a Silent Wings frameless fan which keeps the noise pressure to around 35.8dBA at full load, low enough to blend in with other quiet case fans you might have installed.  This is assisted by the well deserved 80 PLUS Titanium rating, this PSU operates at between 96% low draw to just over 94% peak load efficiency.  The one thing that the Dark Power 12 doesn’t have is availability, just like all too many things nowadays.

The 12V rails on this PSU can handle up to 70A and can be switched to a single rail from four via the provided overclocking key, if you so desire.  The FSP designed PSU uses high quality 105c rated Nippon Chemi Con capacitors and a well designed bridge rectifier to ensure you get power that doesn’t stray out of spec.  The PSU is fully modular, but instead of going with a glow be quiet! chose a matte black theme to ensure this PSU goes with any system.

If you are curious then pop over to Kitguru for a closer look, but don’t get your heart set on this SPU unless you have the patience to wait for one to become available.

Today we are taking a look at one of the latest power supplies from be quiet! – specifically the 850 Watt version of the Dark Power 12. This unit is fully modular, and Titanium rated. be quiet! offer three versions in this range, a 750 watt, 850 watt and 1000 watt model.
