Well, Against Two Dozen Other Processors

The Guru of 3D recently took a look at one of the 11th generation of Core processors, the Cypress Cove based Core i7 11700KF and compared it against numerous modern processors from the Core i7 4790KF to the Ryzen 9 5900X to give you an idea of the breadth of their comparisons.  As you would expect the results of the synthetic benchmarks very depending on what tool is being used, each having different optimizations and preference to single or multithreaded processors.

Overall the i7 11700KF shows an improvement over previous generations of Core i7 processors, even surpassing older Core i9 processors in many tests.  Single threaded performance can almost match the Ryzen 7 5800X and even in certain multithreaded applications such as Cinebench the i7 11700KF it competes well against the Zen 3 part.

When it comes to the benchmarks most are interested in, Intel’s Cypress Cove does not disappoint when gaming.  The i7 11700KF sits at or near the top of the charts in many games, which makes it attractive to those who only intend on gaming and browsing.  Overclockers might not want to choose this chip, the Guru of 3D were not able to push the chip beyond stock speeds however your mileage may vary depending on your specific setup.

We're back at eight Cypress Cove cores, this we test a cheaper priced model, the Core i7 11700KF. Suffixes; K means it is unlocked, that F means better value as you can shave off a few bucks, this processor does not have its integrated graphics activated, and as such it has an MSRP of 380 USD.
