The Classic Audeze Experience Still Costs You Quite A Bit*

Audeze have been producing high end headphones for quite a long time, indeed the re-launch of the LCD-2 Classic in 2018 was celebrating that headphones 10th anniversary.  Today you can take a look at the new 2021 version of the headset over at TechPowerUp, who managed to get a chance to review these $800 planar magnetic headphones.

You begin to get an idea about the design of the LCD-2 Classic as the cable is described, it is 20 AWG Ohno Continuous Cast copper with “higher purity and larger single crystal size”, one end being a gold 1/4″ stereo TRS plug, while the connections to the earcups are four pin XLR plugs.  The design of the headband and yoke rods which connect the earcups to said headband is of equally high quality.

Of course, the real question is how this planar magnetic headset sounds, so if you are willing to take TechPowerUp’s word for it; get the full review here.

* Fancy MIL-STD-C-4150 standard with gasket seal $150 extra

Audeze. The legendary LCD-2 re-imagined: Those utterances alone suffice to generate enough interest in the $800 planar magnetic bass-heavy LCD-2 Classic, which goes with a more eco-friendly construction and has amp-friendly power requirements as it aims to deliver a satisfying Audeze experience for well under a thousand bucks.
