Dipping Into The High End While Keeping The Price Reasonable

Monoprice has a well earned reputation of providing good kit at a very reasonable price, and have recently been branching out into new products.  One such new offering is their Monolith M-TWE Bluetooth wireless earbuds, which offer features like active noise cancellation, ambient mode, and even touch controls with audio feedback messages.  It is also compatible with Monoprice’s SoundID, an Android and iOS app which lets you create your own sound profiles, save them and apply them to any compatible device.

The earbuds use 10 mm neodymium drivers, with a frequency response range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and supports SBC, AAC, and aptX audio signals, receiving that signal via Bluetooth 5.   The battery is rated for up to 10 hours of playback and the portable charging case can extend that another 20 hours before it needs to be recharged as well.  It charges quickly as well, a five minute charge will give you an hour of playback, and you can get a full charge in less than two hours.

The review was a bit mixed, it was obvious to TechPowerUp that Monoprice did have to make some compromises to be able to sell these earbuds for around $100.  On the other hand, SoundID is one of the best implemented applications which TPU have run into, which could be very tempting for those that have specific preferences as to how to set up the equalizer.  You should get the full story before deciding if the Monolith M-TWE Bluetooth wireless earbuds are right for you.

Monoprice pushes into the prosumer audio market with its Monolith product lineup aiming for high-end audio at a lower price. Today, we take a look at its first true wireless earphones, the Monolith M-TWE boasting hybrid noise cancellation on top of native SoundID support for personalized audio profiles.
