The MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT GAMING X 8G Is Overclocker Friendly

Cool, Quiet And Powerful 1080p Gaming
The MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT GAMING X 8G is not something you should grab on Amazon, where it is currently selling for almost double the MSRP of $379. However if you can find it for that price, you can expect to get some impressive 1080p performance out of it, even more so if you put some effort into overclocking it.
Sebastian reviewed this card back in August, and found it to generally outperform the RTX 3060 in non-ray traced games but not up to the level of performance of the old RX 5700 XT. He didn’t get a chance to test the manual overclocking ability of the card, which is where The FPS Review comes in. They took the card from it’s factory overclock which showed a frequency of 2645MHz when playing Cyberpunk 2077 to an impressive 2780MHz in game, even though they were limited to a 4% power boost. The memory offered a more average overclock, up to 2.3GHz compared to the 1.6GHz it sports out of the box.
Those frequencies do provide an increase in performance, which you can check out in their review along with a few games we didn’t test in our review.
The GAMING series feature MSI’s TWIN FROZR 8 thermal design and TORX FAN 4.0 and Mystic Light RGB. The MECH series has MSI TORX FAN 3.0 and is a performance-focused essential design for play or for work.
