The Gigabyte P750GM Didn’t Fare Well; Can The P650B Reverse That?

The first Gigabyte PSU The FPS Review examined, the P650B, did not do very well on the test bed which left them with a less than stellar impression of the Xiamen Metrotec Electronic Industry Co., Ltd.  The new Gigabyte P650B could redeem that impression or reinforce it, which is why The FPS Review gave it a shot at their torture chamber.

The PSU is not modular, all cables are permanently connected and include four PCIe 6+2 connectors, a single EPS 12V, a half dozen SATA, three Molex and even a single floppy drive connector.  The PSU is rated 80 PLUS BRONZE and comes with a three year warranty, which helps keep the price under $70, an attractive price for some.

You should check out the full review for all the details, as there are some things the PSU is OK at and others it is not.  Overall the price is right for the PSU’s features and if you just need a simple power source it might fulfill your needs.  If you have a more power hungry system you might want to give the Gigabyte P650B a miss.

Today, we are looking at our second GIGABYTE branded power supply the GIGABYTE P650B (GP-P650B) an ATX 650W power supply. This power supply can be found for around $66.99 at Amazon and B&H currently.
