NVIDIA Launching 12GB Version of GeForce RTX 3080 GPU

The RTX 3080 Has a Family Now
No longer a 10GB loner, the RTX 3080 has welcomed its hitherto-unknown 12GB cousin into the family with open arms, and slightly better GPU specs. You can find reference to this card from NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3080 Family page, with a screenshot from their new spec table below:
If you take a trip to VideoCardz.com you will find a handy table of specs for the new RTX 3080 12GB, which is based on GA102-220 GPU (the original is GA102-200). The difference begins with SM count, as 70 are enabled with GA102-220 for a total of 8960 CUDA cores along with 70 RT cores and 280 Tensor cores. The original RTX 3080 offers 68 SMs for a total of 8704 CUDA cores, 68 RT cores, and 272 Tensor cores.
But the big change isn’t so much the GPU configuration as memory, which not only moves up to 12GB of GDDR6X from the original 10GB, but now features a wider 384-bit bus (vs. the original 320-bit) for a 20% increase in bandwidth – from 760 GB/s to 912 GB/s. The TGP also moves up to 350W from 320W.
NVIDIA has released a new driver this morning for this card, literally; it is the only one listed under supported GPUs:
