Ar Around $300 It Isn’t That Expensive Either

The MSI MPG Z690 Edge Wifi DDR4 sports a 20Gbit/s Thunderbolt 4 port as well as five 10Gbit/s USB ports, 2.5GbE ethernet, HDMI 2.1, and DP 1.4 on the back header alone.  Internally there is a PCIe 5.0 16x slot as well as three PCIe 3.0 slots, two 4x and a single 1x, not to mention three empty, cooled M.2 slots.  The audio codec is the Realtek ALC4080 and the final M.2 slot is populated with a WiFi 6 and BlueTooth 5.2 adapter.

The power design is also impressive with 16 real phases (15+1), 15 75A RAA220075 MOSFTETS and another one for the SoC.  This design along with the fact it uses DDR4 should give you some lovely overclocking headroom, if only the Core i9-12900K was cooperative with doing so.  Guru of 3D saw the same results when overclocking that processor as they did on every other Z690 board they have tested.

Even more juicy details await.

MSI delivers a Z690 motherboard at around 300 USD this motherboard however is loaded with premium features and is DDR4 compatible. All four M.2 slots are cooled, and there are a plethora of speedy USB ports on the board, as well as the most luxurious Realtek ALC4080 audio codec and integrated WiFi. Additionally, MSI offers a great VRM design.
