The SilverStone DA850 Gold Has A Fancy Grill

Source: The FPS Review The SilverStone DA850 Gold Has A Fancy Grill

If You Need A Small And Quiet PSU

Inside the CWT built SilverStone DA850 Gold you will find Nichicon and Nippon Chemi-con standard capacitors paired with APAQ solid capacitors, all of which contribute to the solid performance of this PSU.  It is fairly compact, just large enough to fit the 120mm fan housed inside it and also quiet, The FPS Review never heard the fan spin until they started their torture tests.

The efficiency of the PSU and the stability of the voltages all recommend this PSU for anyone looking for a reliable PSU, though the three year warranty is inferior to what most of their competition offers.  The other problem would be price, with the SilverStone DA850 Gold costing around $180 which is somewhat higher than the competition.

For this review, we are looking at the current second largest capacity unit in the Decathlon series the DA850 Gold (SST-DA850-G) DA850-G. This is a $170 80 plus Gold 850w fully modular ATX power supply. It is produced in conjunction with CWT.
