AMD Announces New Ryzen Desktop CPUs, 5800X3D Price and Availability
Ryzen 7 5800X3D is 449 USD, 6 New Desktop SKUs, 300 Series Chipset Support
AMD has announced new additions to their current generation of desktop processors, with new products on both current Zen 3 and previous Zen 2 architectures available beginning on April 4.
AMD is also announcing both pricing and availability of their first 3D V-cache CPU, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor, which “will be on-shelf globally beginning April 20, starting at an SEP of $449 USD”, according to AMD.
New Mainstream Processors
These new SKUs are all 65W parts and include the Ryzen 7 5700X, Ryzen 5 5600, and Ryzen 5 5500, as well as the Zen 2 products Ryzen 5 4600G, Ryzen 5 4500, and Ryzen 3 4100.
AMD also announced that “all new Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 desktop processors announced today are bundled with an AMD Wraith Stealth cooler”. As mentioned above, these new CPUs should be available beginning on April 4 with pricing as listed on the above table.
AMD Ryzen 5000 Support on 300 Series Chipset
AMD also provided an update on the expansion of support for Ryzen 5000 CPUs on 300 Series chipsets:
“In addition to these exciting new processor releases, AMD announced it is extending support for Ryzen 5000 Series processors on AMD 300 Series chipsets, including all the new desktop processors announced today. The latest AMD Ryzen 5000 Series processors will be supported on AMD X370, B350 and A320 chipsets, offering a seamless upgrade path to ‘Zen 3’ performance. Selective BETA BIOS updates are expected to become available in April.”
