Do Dekoni Audio Elite Sheepskin Ear Pads Make A Difference
Apart From Providing Protection From Your Audio Partners
The Dekoni Audio Elite Sheepskin Ear Pads are specifically for their Meze 99, which TechPowerUp also reviewed but it offers a chance to explore the differences ear pads can make to a headset. As TPU already had the results from their original review and so they upgraded the pads and strapped them onto their artificial head simulator. Their AHS is comprised of two custom in-ear microphones which feeds into a reference USB sound card, and measured on a laptop that has ARTA and REW running. The results do show a difference in the frequency response, which may or may not appeal to you.
Physically, the Dekoni Audio Elite Sheepskin Ear Pads are aesthetically different which could appeal to you more than a slight change in frequency response. See if you like the looks of them, but keep in mind that Dekoni wants $80 for them.
Dekoni Audio has made a name for itself with a variety of replacement ear pads for headphones, many of which offer enhanced comfort and different tuning characteristics over first-party options. Today, we examine its Elite Sheepskin offering for the Meze 99 series of headphones and compare it to the stock pads for the Meze 99 Neo.
