MSI Refreshes Their Take on AMD’s Chipset With The MEG X570S Ace Max Gaming

A Refreshed Look At AMD X570 Chipset Based Motherboards
It is not that there is a completely refreshed X570 chipset from AMD, but an incorporation of the incremental updates into the chipset on the MSI MEG X570S Ace Max Gaming as well as redesigned thermals. MSI has incorporated a larger chipset heat sink, full thermal armor M.2 drives, and an improved heat pipe design for the VRMs all to help you get more from your Ryzen system. Speaking of VRMs, MSI also updated the power delivery on the motherboard, upgrading it to a 16+2 power design, with an all-digital direct design that uses 90A smart power stages. There isn’t much new on the connectivity side, with the AX210 WiFi6 chipset from Intel and Realtek 2.5Gbe being fairly standard now, though the audio codec now consists of an ALC4080 paired with an ESS Sabre 9018DAC.
As far as performance goes, the MSI X570S Ace Max is on par with the older X570S Ace, though to be fair TweakTown were unable to include overclocking results in their review, which might be more robust than the previous model. If you didn’t pick up a Zen 3 processor when they first came out and are looking to build a new system, or if you need enhanced connectivity then check out this board, as Tweaktown figures it to be one of the better refreshed X570s on the market.
