Core i7-12700H, RTX 3080 Ti And 32 GB Of DDR5-4800

Gigabyte’s Aorus 17 is an impressive gaming laptop and one of the first we have seen with DDR5, not to mention Intel’s Iris Xe IGP paired with the an RTX 3080 Ti.   The 17.3″ screen is capable of displaying at up to 360Hz, but is unfortunately merely a 1080p panel so it is good the laptop offers HDMI 2.1, mini-DP 1.4 and Thunderbolt 4.0 outputs so you can attach a more impressive display to the laptop.   Inside is a single 1TB NVMe drive, with a second PCIe 4.0 NVMe slot available if you are willing to do some disassembly of the laptop to get at it.

TechPowerUp were very happy to see little in the way of bundled software, merely a suite from Gigabyte to let you program the keyboard, control fan curves as well as a way to back up your OS and flash your BIOS.  There is no overclocking tool, nor is there any way to overclock the CPU but the GPU is a different story.  They were able to squeeze a little more out of the Aorus 17 before hitting thermal and power limitations.

Gigabyte's full-size, thin, and light 360 Hz notebook, the Aorus 17, comes fitted with a 12th Gen Alder Lake Intel mobile CPU and NVIDIA Ampere mobile GPU, including the RTX 3060, RTX 3070Ti or RTX 3080Ti. Available in a host of configurations, we take a look at the 3080Ti version combined with an Intel 12700H and DDR5.
