What Can Brown Do For You … And Your GPU?

Behold the ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua OC 10G, with two of Noctua’s 120mm NF-A12x25 PWM fans installed for cooling, in all their brown and tan glory.  ASUS have opted to focus on silent performance as opposed to a huge factory overclock, the card ships with two modes, a Quiet running at 1785 MHz Boost, and a Performance mode with a 1815 MHz Boost clock.  In both cases the 10GB of memory runs at the stock 19000 MHz.

The card barely hits 70C under load in Quiet mode, Performance mode ups the fan speed along with the clocks resulting in an impressive 63C under full load, just about the coolest RTX 3080 going.  Acoustically the card is even more impressive, Quiet mode produces a barely measurable 32dBa while Performance mode’s 38dBa is a testament to the effectiveness of the Noctua fans.

This might not be the fastest model of NVIDIA’s new GPU, the RTX 3080 Noctua OC 10G is without question the quietest!  Get the full results over at the Guru of 3D.

Enjoy the silence, since who doesn't remember that tune from the 1980s? Join us as we analyze the all new GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua OC model. You can dispute its appearance and style, but the card performs as desired: it's incredibly quiet.

Unfortunately, it seems to be a bit late to the game, with the 4000 series seemingly around the corner. Would have loved to get one of these, but it seems to be a waste this close to the release of the next gen.
