Don’t Say Toshiba, It’s A Kioxia Exceria Pro NVMe SSD

Source: Guru of 3D Don’t Say Toshiba, It’s A Kioxia Exceria Pro NVMe SSD

Probably A PS5018-E18, Definitely 112-layer BiCS5 TLC NAND

The Kioxia Exceria Pro PCIe 4.0 is an updated version of the non-Por we saw last year and claims to be able to hit 7000 MB/sec sequential reads.  That would put it’s performance up around the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus and MSI’s Spatium M480 Play, two of the fastest drives going currently.  This was enough to convince The Guru of 3D to grab the 2TB version of the Kioxia Exceria Pro and test it out.

ATTO shows the drive comes very close while in Crystal DiskMark it managed 7030MB/s read and 6396MB/s write, so it does indeed show up towards the top of many benchmarks.  That does generate a fair amount of heat, with a heatspreader on they still saw temperatures hit 78C so do make sure you keep that in mind if you pick one up as it does not ship with one.

The lifespan is fairly good as well, rated for 800 TBW on this 2TB model or 5 years of use, whichever comes first.  Check out the full details here.

We review the Kioxia Exceria Pro 2 TB M.2 NVMe SSD, yes the artist previously known as Toshiba is back with very fast NAND and PCIe Gen 4.0 controller, this unit offers durability as well as PCIe 4.0 performance levels above 7 GB/sec.

    What’s “non-Por”?

Did they mention the price? They mention $0.15/mb, so $300 or so for the 2TB model they tested? Seems okay. Would like to see it include a HS at that price.
