The Case Of The Geometric Future Model 8 CowBoy Enclosure

The Case Of The Geometric Future Model 8 CowBoy Enclosure

Okay, Three, Two, One; Let’s Jam

Geometric Future have released a new case which they call the Model 8 CowBoy that has a somewhat different internal layout than most cases on the market.  The flat front, which is sealed up tight might give you a hint, but if it isn’t obvious this is a vertical mount case with your expansion cards exhausting out the top and the PSU hidden at the front.  The majority of your intake fans will be on the bottom, with a removable filter preventing too much from being Hovered up and into your system.

The Model 8 CowBoy ships without any fans, but it can support a wide variety including a120mm fan/radiator at the top, the rear supports four 120/140mm fans or up to a 420mm radiator, while finally at the bottom is space for another three 120/140mm fans or equivalent radiator.   The top panel offers you two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a single USB 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps Type-C port, and separated 3.5mm audio input and output.

One other feature of note before you head over to KitGuru to listen to their review is the trim you can see towards the top of the case.  It’s not often leather is incorporated into a computer case, the Geometric Future Model 8 CowBoy does.

But when something that genuinely looks new and interesting passes through the KitGuru office we get a little bit excited. Thankfully, today is one of those days when we get to look at a brand new PC case from a new company, but will it impress? Let’s find out.

Its nice to see some interesting design elements in a market thats flooded rehashed tired designs and / or designs that need to resort cramming more garbage RBG into the same boring shapes in order to stand out. I also think this layout has a lot of merit and makes sense when GPUs have gotten to a size and weight that nobody would have ever thought possible when PCIe slots were standardized.

I like the look of this case (would prefer a none TG panel version myself though). Even though it makes no sense and I have to wonder from what cultural reference they are pulling it from I even like the name, charming in a odd way.
