The Modular Framework Laptop Gets Another Update

Upgrading The Framework Laptop to 13th Gen Intel

The new Framework Laptop can be ordered as an entire product or as an upgrade kit, with a variety of processors and other components coming separate to allow you to upgrade your existing Framework Laptop.   If you missed our coverage before, the Framework laptop is designed to be upgradeable thanks to it’s modular design.  You can’t quite go out and buy a CPU and drop it in, instead you buy a module or three to pop into your chassis.

Ars Technica took the opportunity to test out the laptop with a Intel Core i7-1370P after spending about an hour taking the laptop apart, swapping parts and reassembling it in about an hour.  Check out the details in their full review.

So this is a review of the 2023 iteration of the Framework Laptop 13, but it's also a review of a box full of parts. We won't regurgitate everything we said about the Framework Laptop last year (or the year before that) except to comment on how the design of the system is aging and how the various new components change the experience.
