Crucial’s Fastest SSD To Date

Crucial have combined two popular ingredients, the Phison S5026-E26 8-channel controller and Micron’s 232-Layer 3D TLC NAND into the Crucial T705 series of SSDs.  To make this electronic peanut butter cup even more attractive, they’ve included 1GB of DDR4 per terabyte of storage, so 2GB for the 2TB model up for review at KitGuru not to mention a dynamic SLC cache for those small jobs.

The CrystalDiskMark 8 tests KitGuru ran did hit 14,506MB/s sequential reads and writes of 12,739MB/s, though ATTO produced a ‘mere’ 12,970MB/s for reads and 11,880MB/s for writes.  As you should expect by now, PCIe 5.0 drives need cooling and as it turns out the compact heatsink on the Crucial T705 kept the drive from going much over 50C, if the motherboard you use doesn’t have any extra cooling for it.

Behold the full review here.

The latest SSD to join Crucial's Pro lineup is the T705, coming in as the new flagship drive of the Pro SSD line. Using a combination of a Phison controller and 232-layer NAND, it's also Crucial's fastest SSD to date.
