The Power Adapter Offers A Mere 330W

If you have $3700 and a strong desire for a laptop more powerful than the majority of desktops on the market then MSI’s Raider GE78HX is for you.  In addition to the CPU and GPU already mentioned, the laptop ships with 64GB of DDR5-5600, upgradable to 96GB, and a 2TB Gen4 NVMe drive plugged into the Gen5 NVMe slot with an additional Gen4 slot free.  The networking is provided by Intel Killer, offering both Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5Gbe wired connectivity.  USB includes Thunderbolt4, and four USB 3.2 ports of which two are Type-C.

The display is a 17″ IPS panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz which should give that mobile RTX 4090 plenty to work with even without an external display.   It is impressive that MSI managed to keep the weight of the Raider GE78HX down to 6.83 lbs, still fairly hefty but not too bad for the components.

It blew away TweakTown’s benchmark suite, as you might expect, which you can see here.

MSI's new Raider GE78HX might be the highest-spec gaming laptop we have ever reviewed, and boy, does it deliver! Let's take a close look!
