GIGABYTE Adds X3D Turbo Mode To Their AM5 Motherboards
You’ll Need A New BIOS To Get AMD AGESA 1.2.0.2a, A X800 or X600 Motherboard And A Ryzen 7000 Or 9000 CPU
We all love free performance boosts and that is exactly what Gigabyte is offering with their new X3D Turbo Mode feature. If you have a X870E, X870, or 600 series motherboard from Gigabyte, there is a new beta BIOS which enables the feature. There is also a new app, the oddly named AORUS AI SNATCH which you will need to install that will tell you the status of X3D Turbo Mode on your system. You don’t even need an X3D processor, others will benefit from the feature, though perhaps not as much as if you opted for an X3d model.
TweakTown’s testing showed minor improvements on a 9800X3D of 4-5% on a handful of games but when they tried the Ryzen 9 9950X the improvements ranged from 7-17%. That would be a noticeable boost, and seeing as how it costs you nothing it does make Gigabyte’s boards rather attractive until we start seeing this feature from other brands.
Your mileage will vary depending on your memory and CPU, but the price is right!
GIGABYTE's new X3D Turbo Mode for its motherboards accelerates your AMD Ryzen CPU and super-boosts Ryzen X3D processors. Here's what you need to know!
