The New Corsair Frame 4000D
The Corsair Frame 4000, Enhanced Edition
You can choose between three different packages if you want to pick up a Corsair 4000D, one without fans, one with non-ARGB fans, and a fully RGB infected version. Other than the fans, or lack thereof, the three models are exactly the same. It’s a fairly sizable case, 486 x 239 x 490 mm (19.1 x 9.4 x 19.3″) and will fit anything from a mini-ITX to an E-ATX motherboard, with BTF support if you swing in that direction. Regardless if you choose your own fans or get them included, you can shove up to three 120mm or two at the front, a single 120/140mm in the rear, three 120 or 140/160mm at the top and another three 120mm or two 140mm fans on the side; or their equivalents in radiators. There is space for another pair of 120mm fans on the bottom but you can’t replace them with a radiator for reasons which are hopefully obvious to you.
You will find a singe USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, two standard USB 3.0 and an audio combo port on the bottom of the case, along with a funky looking power button. TechPowerUp loved the removable motherboard tray which has improved compared to the original 4000D, the fact the PSU filter slides out to the side and the GPU support bar. On the other hand they were less impressed with the vented main side panel design and the price; at least for the fanless model.
It still picked up an impressive award, as the benefits far outweigh the minor flaws.
The Corsair Frame 4000D is an evolution of the popular 4000D, with a focus on additional modularity and flexibility as it is the first mainstream chassis to use the InfiniRail mounting system. The updates don't just end with functionality, as the Frame 4000D also offers fresh design details to set the stage for the new Frame series.
