Can An Extra 150MHz Or So Save This $880 GPU?

The reception of the RTX 5070 Ti has been lukewarm and a little controversial.  The issue stems from the $750 MSRP for a card that performs almost exactly the same as the RTX 4080 SUPER; another card that had a mixed reception at launch.  On the one hand, you theoretically get that level of performance for 25% less than the previous generations card. On the other hand the Ti line used to be a premium NVIDIA product, and so having an RTX 5070 Ti be equivalent to a card one tier higher on the previous generation is not amazing for many prospective purchasers. 

Of course, the price argument is moot seeing as how you won’t find either an RTX 4080 SUPER nor an RTX 5070 Ti card for sale at anywhere near the MSRP and likely won’t for some time.

TweakTown tested out the MSI RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio at the out of box Boost Clock of 2580MHz, and while they were able to hit higher frequencies they didn’t include them in the results.   They were impressed with the power and thermals of the RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Tri, as it ships with a 3 x 8-pin to 1 16-pin adapter to provide more stable power delivery and that the GPU barely hit 60C under load, even when running with a 200MHz overclock.  If you are one that is considering an RTX 5070 Ti, then MSI’s RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio is one to put on your list.
