Creative’s Engineers Still Have It After All These Years

The Sound Blaster G8 Hi-Res Gaming DUAL USB DAC and Amp offers a way to bring back a brand that used to be found in the vast majority of gaming computers, but which has been replaced by decent onboard audio.  The quality isn’t always NForce2 level, but it can be impressive if you spend enough on your motherboard.   That audio might not be flexible enough for some users though, and audiophiles and streamers have made USB DAC/Amp devices into a large market.  Creative is jumping into that market with the G8 Hi-Res, which offers a lot of options for mixing signals.

The back offers an HDMI (Arc) port, USB-C/DC Power, USB-C, Optical output and input, 3.5mm output and input. as well as a headphone gain toggle, with a toggle to go between HDMI or Optical output so you can set the G8 Hi-Res up on a variety of different systems.  The top sports two knobs, the left knob controls the game and voice mixing with global volume is on the right. The buttons offer SBX mode switching, Direct Mode and a headphone/speaker toggle.

Check out the subjective performance, the Sound Blaster software suite and more at Hardware Asylum.

There is something about having the controls at your fingertips no matter what you have open. Fortunately, the engineers at Creative continue to up their game. Today we will be looking at their latest external Amp/DAC, the Sound Blaster G8 Hi-Res Gaming DUAL USB DAC and Amp.

yup, I’m still rocking a Creative SoundBlaster Zx!!! Awesome sound card!

I recently got to do a new build PC and I on purposely went with ATX since I wanted to make sure that there woudl be enough room for the new gfx card AND my sound card too since these newer high~ish end cards take up 3 or more slots!
