ADATA SE920 – 1TB Of USB4 On The Run

Put That USB4 Port To Work

The bandwidth available to portable storage has seen a tremendous increase over the past few years, and now offer transfer speeds rivalling internal drives.  The ADATA SE920 is a perfect example, offering up to 3,800MB/s seq. read and 3,700MB/s write when connected to a proper USB4 port and Windows External Storage drive policy set to Better Performance. The FPS Review has a link which shows you where Microsoft have hidden that setting.

The drive has an interesting trick, in addition to it’s speed, it can be expanded from it’s base 105 x 64.2 x 15.9mm (4.13″ x 2.52″ x 0.62″) to a length of 122.56mm (4.82″).  That engages the tiny fan which provides silent cooling to the drive when you are transferring large amounts of data.  Check out how effective the fan is, as well as all the benchmarking results in the full review.

The ADATA SE920 is, in fact, the only USB4 external SSD storage device at this time, from ADATA.
