Endless Legend 2 Enters Early Access As A Changed Game
Amplitude Listened To The Beta Bunch
The open beta of Endless Legend 2 revealed a vastly different game from the original, with some familiar concepts still found hiding in the coral. The new art style was incredibly lush, so much so a few of the important game mechanics were hard to spot in the verdant landscape. They’ve toned that down a bit in the new Early Access version now available on Steam. As Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN revealed, “A quarter of reviews mentioned UI and only 30% of those comments were positive,“
Amplitude also wanted to focus more on the characters of the heroes and leaders of the various factions, and found that most testers thought a bit more work was needed. Some characters had dialogue that made very little sense and they’ve trimmed some lines, changed others and fixed more than a few bugs related to your advisors offering advice.
The open beta has wrapped up, but if you are curious you can try the Early Access at a 20% discount.
Endless Legend 2 sees a bunch of different species vying for control of a flooded world that is mysteriously draining dry. Broadly, it works like this: you start with one city and slowly expand it, while sending out named heroes and generic units to explore, gather resources, and complete itty-bitty quests in return for more resources.
