Nitro Concepts Immersion Metahaptics Kit; Totally Not The ButtKicker 2.0

Metahaptics Is A Perfectly Cromulent Word That Nitro Concepts Didn’t Just Make Up

Nitro Concepts wants to make your racing sim experience as immersive as possible.  To that end they’ve released the Immersion Metahaptics Kit, a USB controlled seat cushion kit which plugs into a wall socket to deliver 100W of Gearshift, Engine, ABS, Wheelslip, and Road Feel to your back and rear end.  The strength of the effects can be controlled via sliders in the software Nitro Concepts provides, but as TweakTown discovered you can’t test how it feels short of firing up a compatible game and trying it while you race.

The cushions are designed to fit on just about any gaming chair but to get the best experience they would prefer you pick up their R300 bucket seat, which adds around $300 to the $1141 price of the cushions.  That price alone should be enough to shake your chair free of charge, but if you want an immersive experience at any cost you are likely already familiar with that sort of price tag.

As to it’s effectiveness, TweakTown was amazed at how well the actuators in the seats translated to the feel of a roaring engine.  Take a gander at the full review here.

Once you recover from the price tag, the Nitro Concepts Metahaptics Kit is a bundle of smile-inducing fun that makes you want to race more.
