OldUnreal Are The Best, UT2K4ever

Brought to you by the same team that gave us the ability to play Unreal Gold and the original Unreal Tournament, OldUnreal are now hosting Unreal Tournament 2004.  It is playable on modern systems, Windows, MacOS or Linux and comes with a large number of patches to make it run smoothly on hardware we weren’t even dreaming of 22 years ago.  They aren’t resting on their laurels either, as they post updates to their patches on a fairly regular schedule.

For Windows users you can grab the image in a self extracting archive that also grabs the latest available patches.  Linux gamers are directed to the OldUnreal GitHub site to get instructions on installing Unreal Tournament 2004.   That is also where you will find the latest patches so you can keep your game up to date.  They are released for Windows as ZIP files, just extract to your installation directory and get back to fragging.

The only bad news is they don’t seem to be hosting the old map mega-pack from days of yore so you will have to be that guy and try to slurp down missing custom maps if you join a server that has them in their rotation.  For yes, even with the death of GameSpy, the OldUnreal have multiplayer Unreal Tournament 2004 up and running.

As spotted by Parade Call Gamer, the OldUnreal lot have now pushed their re-release live, alongside a hefty community patch. That's the same OldUnreal lot who gave Unreal Gold and Unreal Tournament similar treatments a couple of years ago.
