The Security Researcher’s Best Friend Just Got Better

2026 has not been a good year for computer security, with every OS seeing a variety of malicious hacks.  They have mostly been patched, but that won’t last as more and more 0-days are discovered and require fixing.  One way that security researchers find these new malware attacks is through the use of software tools and Kali Linux is like a Swiss Army knife of tests.

You can install it as an operating system, or as a live environment on everything from an Android phone to a Raspberry Pi and everything in between.  Kali now features an additional nine new tools to the network repositories, which includes the AI powered shell-gpt because nothing can escape our LLM overlords.  In addition to new tools, existing ones like NetHunter have had their capabilities expanded and is compatible with even more devices.
